At the County, we say, “Kids are great!”

They may move a little fast or make a bit of noise. And, of course, they like to “explore”, but the County is a family hotel and our littler guests get our full attention.

Hotels rooms can be boring, so we have colouring books and reading books, and soft toys for comfort. Just ask at reception and we will see what we have to keep the wee ones amused.

Our restaurants serve lots of children's favourites and we will do our best to prepare things “the way they like”.

There are lots of exciting amenities in and around Dalkeith and Midlothian to keep kids of all ages entertained.  One of our favourites is the Dalkeith Country Park, Just a couple minutes walk away, they can get plenty of healthy exercise with climbing, swings, obstacle course, flying foxes and two of the highest slides we have ever seen!
